6 month initial contract - outside IR35

Introduction
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Procurement professional for a secondment opportunity with TFL. This contract position offers a unique chance to contribute to an important Rolling Stock Procurement bid within the rail sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the procurement process for the Rolling Stock Procurement bid.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to identify procurement requirements and develop effective strategies.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and make informed recommendations.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring value for money and mitigation of risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues or disputes, and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Track procurement metrics and provide regular reports to management, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Significant experience in procurement, preferably within the rail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex procurement projects and deliver successful outcomes within specified timelines.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on achieving value for money.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make informed decisions based on supplier capabilities, quality, and costs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
