As the Highway Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient delivery of foot-way and carriageway planned schemes, including whole road resurfacing or repaving projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the borough's Planned Maintenance programme and budget effectively.
• Ensure that planned schemes, such as road resurfacing or repaving, are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
• Utilise excellent financial management skills to allocate resources efficiently and effectively.
• Prioritise roads in the borough with the poorest condition for maintenance interventions.
• Supervise contracts related to highway maintenance and construction projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate project activities and ensure smooth execution.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing highway maintenance projects and budgets.
• Strong financial management skills with the ability to optimise budget utilisation.
• Experience in contract supervision and management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
