Senior / Lead CAD Technician

Our client, a leading consultancy in the Rail sector, is currently seeking an experienced Senior / Lead CAD Technician to join their team. This is a permanent position based in Bristol, working 3-4 days in office.

Job Overview:

As a Senior / Lead CAD Technician, you will be responsible for using your expertise in 3D CAD, specifically MicroStation, to contribute to the design and development of rail projects, with a focus on bridges & structures. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure accurate and high-quality drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed CAD drawings using MicroStation software
• Collaborate with engineers to develop design solutions
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Conduct quality checks on drawings to maintain accuracy
• Assist with the coordination of project deadlines
• Attend and contribute to design meetings
• Provide technical support to junior team members

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in 3D CAD, specifically using MicroStation
• Strong background in rail projects, particularly within the Bridges discipline
• Knowledge and understanding of bridge design and construction
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
