About the Role - Principal Planning Officer
Local authority in the field of Development Management, is seeking a skilled and motivated Principal Planning Officer to join their team. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work within the HTP sector and make a meaningful impact on the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently handling a range of Development Management (DM) cases, including minors and majors
• Working with minimal supervision to assess and process pre-application enquiries
• Providing technical advice and guidance to stakeholders
• Contributing to the efficient operation of the planning service

Job Requirements

• Significant experience in Development Management
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of planning legislation and policies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
• Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Managing and mentoring junior staff members
