Job description

As a Weights Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary airframe team consisting of designers, aerodynamicists, materials specialists, manufacturing engineers, and structures engineers. Your role will involve supporting and managing work plans, contributing your expertise to the decision-making process, and actively participating in the development and deployment of discipline capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize your expertise in aircraft structure and systems Weights Engineering processes and methods

  • Assess early lifecycle weight, centre of gravity, and inertia properties
  • Manage weight targets and ensure compliance
  • Communicate effectively with superiors, peers, subordinates, and key stakeholders
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams and navigate conflicting engineering priorities

Job Requirements

  • Degree/HND/HNC in a STEM subject or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Significant experience in Weights Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Airframe-related disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structure and systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Logical and organized approach to work

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and carrying out engineering tasks within their span of responsibility, collaborating with their line manager to establish efficient work plans, ensuring technical quality, and delivering projects on time and within budget. They will actively contribute to the development of Weights Engineering toolsets and processes within the discipline capability development framework.
