Job description
Our client, a leading company in the Aerospace industry, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the adherence to quality procedures and standards within the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and execute the internal audit program to ensure adherence to company procedures and recognized standards
- Conduct internal audits across all areas of the business on a continual basis
- Drive investigations and root cause analysis for audit non-conformances
- Schedule, track, and report on supplier quality audits completed by the Supplier Quality Team
- Maintain and communicate quality metrics for tracking and meet targets
- Implement defined quality improvement initiatives
- Provide general support to the Business Management System process
- Cooperate with management to meet employer's legal duties and ensure health and safety
Core competencies:
- Experienced in leading internal audits to recognized aerospace standards
- Proven quality experience in an Aerospace, Defence, or AS9100 environment
- Professional conduct, engaging manner, and good communication skills
- Proven background in maintaining Quality Management Systems
- Planning and scheduling of audits, both internally and within the supply base
- Clear communication skills for reporting on audit findings
- Excellent understanding of root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Ability to use databases to record audits and status
- Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised and a passion for process improvement
- Additional competencies will be provided through the competency matrix and linked to the relevant job level
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree qualified or equivalent - desired
- Thorough understanding of Defence and/or Aerospace Quality requirements
- Knowledge of CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and/or EASA
- Experience with ISO9001, AS9100, and/or AS9110
- Computer numeracy, particularly in Excel
