Assistant Commerical Contract Manager
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Contract Manager to join our team at Southern Water.
The post is responsible for post contract management of a wide portfolio of contracts, supporting the Wholesale Water or Wholesale Wastewater or Engineering & Construction directorates. You will be responsible for capital delivery portfolios, processing contractor payments and supporting between one or two Commercial Contract Managers with the day to day management and administration of a number of individual contracts.
The post will involve supporting the Commercial Contract Managers with the cost management and control and overall monitoring and management of strategic supplier (tier 1 Capital Delivery or Maintenance Partner) performance. This will include; audit of contract payment applications, validating legitimacy of 'actual cost' submissions relating to gain-share mechanisms, performing contract assurance and ad hoc forensic audits of contracts/contractors.
You will ensure adherence to contract processes and commercial governance, contract compliance and reporting, administration of contract notices and providing Commercial post contract award support to Project Managers and Contract Owners.
We are seeking individuals with significant Commercial and Financial principles understanding, whom are commercially astute with strong financial awareness. You will have understanding of audit theory, methodologies, techniques principles and ability to put this into practice.
You must have significant experience of working in a contractual environment and prior experience of supporting external or internal audits. The desirable candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and strong IT and data skills.
Please note a degree level qualification in a related field is desirable. In progress (or fully completed) Professional qualifications and/or membership of a Chartered professional body i.e. RICS (e.g. Accountancy, Quantity Surveying, Procurement) desirable.
