Our client operates and maintains two fuel tank farms at Heathrow Airport. The purpose of this role is to support the company engineer to perform the operational, engineering and maintenance activities on this bulk fuel site.
Our client manages Heathrow Airport's two fuel tank farms and three fuel hydrant systems ensuring delivery of fuel to every airline on site. The overall purpose of this role is to support the company engineer to perform the operational, engineering and maintenance activities safely, effectively and efficiently.
Candidates must be familiar with mechanical plant and equipment including pipework, flanges, gaskets, flow rates, rotating machinery, pumps and valves etc. You should also have experience of safe systems of work / permits to work.
The main responsibilities will be to lead the following tasks:
- Mechanical repairs to plant and installation of new equipment
- Quality control standard and expertise for the site
- Control of work, isolations, overrides
- Support the operation technical activities
- Risk assessments and procedures
- COMAH documentation and plant changes
- Audit documentation and actions
- Planned preventative maintenance system (PPM)
Candidates should have an aptitude for dealing with mechanical works, breakdowns, repairs and fault diagnosis. The role will involve being able to assess hazards and prepare risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.
The required skills include good practical mechanical knowledge within a process engineering environment. Petrochemical experience would be ideal but not essential. Other process industry experience will be considered, i.e. oil & gas, power generation, waste to energy, renewable energy, transmission & distribution, water treatment, waste water treatment, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, FMCG, food & beverage etc.
Additional skills include problem solving, planning, effective communication including written and verbal skills and IT skills. Candidates must be comfortable working in a team environment.
