Carpenter - Fit out
An opportunity has arisen for Carpenters with fit out experience, based in Plymouth.
The main purpose of the role is to carry out the installation of furniture, fittings, linings, plumbing and other associated work (laminating bulkheads) as part of total boat construction
Day to Day duties:
Scribe in units and trim/adjust to shape and size requirements
Basic plumbing of sinks, toilets, holding tanks & showers
Final fitting of hardware (port-holes, fridges and canopies
Running trunking for air con and central heating systems
Make patterns for customising and custom fitting of units/
Sign off boat file for compliance
Suitable candidates will have:
Recognised carpentry apprenticeship and/or City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3
Daily use of a wide range of hand tools and machinery
Above average carpentry skills with a good eye for detail and finish
Capable of working as a member of core crew on any boat
Able to interpret a wide range of information/drawings
Able to carry out local decision making to overcome difficulties
Able to find alternatives to the standard boat building sequence
Salary- £26,755 (Monday - Thursday 38 hours)
Overtime paid at a premium
28 days holiday
