Function Name Senior Engineer Driver Display - Cluster

Role Summary
As Senior Engineer Driver Displays you will be responsible for development, test and delivery of state-of-the-art instrument cluster for future road cars.
The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail with a software development background. The role will suit an Engineer who can quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers within a multidisciplinary team.
Dimension of Function

The Body Networks ECUs team is responsible for the specification, test and delivery of all network modules, which includes; body control, security control, TPMS, Keys, door control, ORC, intelligent battery systems, network gateways, engine control, chassis control and traction control and driver instrument clusters.
The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail, diligence and a positive attitude. The fast paced development and bespoke target platform provide a challenging environment suited to an engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers within a multidisciplinary team. Clients customers expect high standards and we require staff capable of meeting such demands.

Knowledge / Experience
* Experience with Automotive driver display / Instrument cluster systems
* Knowledge of CAN and CAN based tools (CANoe)
* Experience and understanding of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and software
* Experience of systems developing MI-based systems.
* Experience in a systems engineering, or electronics role
* Experience of the Systems Development Lifecycle (V Model); writing system requirements, defining test cases and writing test procedures.
* Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.

* Ability to effectively manage time
* Passion for the automotive industry, technology and/or audio would be advantageous but not essential.
* Technical project management with proven evidence of decision making and
* Good commercial awareness to maintain a focus on cost, profit, quality and risk.
* A strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight and cost targets.
* Supplier management, comfortable with understanding and implementing DFM requirements within the project scope.
* Background in low volume, high performance sports or racing cars preferred.
* Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
* Honours degree in a relevant Engineering subject such as Electronics, Software, or Physics.

Preferred
* Extensive experience in development of digital driver displays, the legal requirements and HMI considerations. Automated testing definition. CGI Studio.

Area of Responsibility
* Management of hardware (developed) and software of driver display development for two vehicle programmes with sourced supplier to deliver a new instrument cluster on time, on cost, and within quality and functional specifications.
* Developing system requirements to automotive industry standards.
* Supplier management
* Requirements definition & management
* Report on current activities, Hardware and software status and issues at a business level
* Developing and co-ordinate DVP plans for all areas associated with the instrument cluster hardware and software including test definition and execution of on vehicle testing using CAN, CANoe.
* Manage and develop test rigs to facilitate the required testing of all new and existing features within the instrument cluster software domain.
* Assisting Principle Engineer in provision of work to the test team
* Proof of concept development
* Delivering tasks to a strict timing plan
