MEICA Assistant Project Manager
Southern Water has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team
We are seeking an accomplished individual to provide Project Management Assistance and coordination of Optimisation Spend to Save Schemes within Optimisation team project portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects conform to the governance process and that projects are delivered on time and to appropriate standards. You will be promoting good practice in terms of project planning and control, with project stakeholders, colleagues in Operations and the wider optimisation team. This challenging yet rewarding opportunity comes with an attractive salary of up to £34,850, 25 days of annual leave and other company benefits.
You will assist in evaluation and solution of potential problems, referring them to the Project Manager and perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested. You will be accountable for the development of the processes and monitoring to ensure timely, well written and persuasive documentation. You will be responsible for identification of and escalating risks to project programme, cost and quality with liaison with a wide range of stakeholders including customers, operations and contractors.
You will be responsible for driving continual operational improvements related to processes and procedures (e.g. developing proposals for change to the Project Gateway process, creating guidance notes for processes, defining templates).
We are seeking proactive and self-motivated individuals with effective communication skills across all levels. You must have previous managerial experience, ideally within the Water industry, however this is not essential. Ideally you'll have CDM knowledge with contractual awareness. You will have the ability to build strong working relationships, and possess strong influencing and persuasion skills. To be successful you will have had substantial experience working in a project environment and knowledge of water processes.
This will be a regional role with a flexible base between our offices in Durrington, Falmer and Chatham. A certain amount of travel between sites is expected, so therefore a full clean driving license and access to a vehicle is required.
