Salary: £40,827 to £49,899 DOE

Development Project Manager - Onshore Wind

My client is seeking a Development Project Manager - Onshore Wind on a permanent basis. The role is ideally suited to someone with experience in onshore wind development. The role will comprise working within the renewables onshore wind development team, on a number of onshore wind opportunities primarily in Scotland.

My client has set itself ambitious targets for future project development in Scotland and therefore initially the role will concentrate on land feasibility and landowner negotiations to establish new opportunities for development. The role has potential to develop into project managing the development of onshore wind sites through the EIA process to construction.

You will have excellent knowledge of the onshore wind development process, including identification & assessment of potential new sites, analysis using GIS (geographic information system), landowner negotiations, grid connections, planning processes, environmental impact assessment, and contract management.

Ideally the Development Project Manager - Onshore Wind will have a background in land feasibility and landowner negotiations. You Wind will have a keen awareness of the commercial opportunities, constraints and drivers, both for individual projects and for the onshore wind business as a whole.

Development Project Manager - Onshore Wind Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally suited to someone with experience in onshore wind development
  • An enthusiasm for renewable energy
  • Relevant degree (e.g. surveying/planning/environmental) or equivalent experience/qualification(s)
  • Good knowledge and experience of the development process for onshore wind
  • Knowledge and experience of the planning system and environmental impact assessment (EIA) in the UK
  • Ability and confidence to liaise with landowners and their representatives, develop relationships and negotiate terms
  • Project management experience and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, with drive to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to be flexible and multi-task
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages; GIS, Wind Pro or equivalent an advantage
