Marine Field Service Engineer

This is an immediate requirement for a Field Service Engineer or Marine Engineer with experience of working on Electrical and Electronic Systems.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Marine Field Service Engineer to work for a leading Electronics design company in the Weymouth area. This Marine Engineer role will be working on engineering support and maintenance through the engineering lifecycle of the product at designate customer locations on and off-site

This will include planning, prioritising work, to ensure procurement, installation, testing and configuration requirements are met in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and contractual requirements.

This position requires a significant amount of travelling and as part of the role it attracts additional allowances in the form of.

- Alongside on-board platform allowance
- At Sea allowance
- Expense allowances

Requirements for this Field Service Engineer role

- Experience of working with electrical/electronic systems, especially within a MoD maritime domain.
- To assist the Team Lead in the planning, assembly and testing of manufactured items and cables in accordance with quality procedures and associated work instructions with the ability to deputise in Team Lead absence.
- Carry out installation and setting to work activities of project equipment, as detailed in the project installation and test plans.
- Work as part of a team with the ability to travel extensively both nationally and internationally as determined by customer field service requirements which can be at short notice.
- Attendance at sea, land or air trials as required to measure, service and maintain equipment as necessary.
- Provide timely engineering support for system integration and test activity as required.
- Ability to produce and or update project/technical documentation to meet Company, MoD and other customer standards.
- The experience/ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, customers, suppliers, project teams and colleagues.
- Maintain and support routine maintenance cycles ensuring all quality and legal standards are met whilst helping to manage obsolescence.
- Good interpersonal skills providing clear communication and documentation, with good oral and written skills.

Due to the nature of the work at this site, applicants must be capable of achieving SC level UK security clearance. Current clearance is not a requirement.

This role would be suitable for candidate from an industry background or straight out of the Navy.
