Head of Development Management
My client in Norfolk are recruiting for a permanent Head of Development Management, you will be brought into the team to manage a team including Development Management, Historic Buildings, Trees and Planning Enforcement teams.
This Local Authority are based in the heart of Norfolk covering an area of 1,305 kilometres and is one of the largest rural districts in England. This diverse and busy town are looking to appoint a Head of Development Management to manage the Development Management and the Planning Enforcement team including some others.
About the Job
As the new Head of Development Management at the council you will have the opportunity to manage a team including Principal, Senior and Assistant Planners, Historic Buildings Consultant, Tree Consultant and Planning Enforcement providing training as required, and managing and improving their outputs.
You will also be required to ensure that all applications are determined within the required statutory timescales or ensuring that all outstanding applications have a suitable extension of time agreed in writing with the applicant or agent, and are determined within the timescales set out in the Planning guarantee and provide regular team reports to the Director of Planning and Building Control and the Joint Operational Board.
The Ideal Candidate and requirements
To be successful for this role you will need to have at least five years post qualification experience in development management ideally in both a private and public sector environment and be able to demonstrate ability to identify and realise commercial trading opportunities including having experience of, or the clear potential for, team leadership.
A degree qualification in Town and Country Planning or equivalent experience and membership (or eligible for membership) of the Royal Town Planning Institute and up to date CPD will be required for this position.
Salary Range and benefits
As the permanent Head of Development Management at the council you will receive a salary paying up to £60,000 and can enjoy a range of benefits including: flexible working over a full time 37.5 hour week, to Live and work in a beautiful location, close to the thriving city of Norwich as well as the unrivalled Norfolk coastline.
Also the council offer employees of the council 23 days annual leave increasing to 27 days after 5 years service.
