Scrum Master experience

The Job

DE&S have an opportunity for an experienced Scrum Master to oversee three development teams using Oracle Apex, Office 365 and .Net. They build, maintain and deliver enterprise grade software for over 12,000 users.

The key duties for this role are:

* Acting as the Scrum Master for the development teams of circa 15 people in total

* Task / project management

* Stakeholder engagement at all levels, internal and external

* Guiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile / Scrum practises and values to delight customers

* Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organisation and how to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks

* Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.

* Removing impediments or guiding the team on how to remove them by finding the right personnel

* Building a trusting and safe environment

* Facilitating getting the work done

* Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution

* Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

* Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog

* Providing all support to the team


To be successful in this role, it is essential that you can demonstrate the following:

* Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory

* Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

* Knowledge of numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.

* A passion for success and quality software delivery using Scrum principles, practices and theory The following skills/knowledge may be beneficial to your application:

* Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, etc.

* Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing

* Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team

* Excellent communication and mentoring skills
