Introduction

Our client, Southern Water, is currently looking for a Process Technician with a mechanical background to join our team in Burham, Kent.

Mechanical background, NVQ level 3 or similar essential

The Job

The main purpose of the role will be to undertake the day-to-day maintenance of, and repairs to, water supply works, reservoirs and booster stations in the Kent area to ensure all environmental, quality and customer service standards are met, whilst meeting H&S legislation and achieving budgetary targets. This position comes with a company van and an attractive starting salary.

The position holder will be required to manage projects internally and provide the technical expertise to contractors working for Southern Water. This will include installation of the new plant and equipment as required as well as reactive and planned maintenance of plant and equipment on a daily basis. Also, to identify possible future risks and recommend changes in the course of their day-to-day work and to raise these for resolution as required.

To be successful in this role you must be able to read and understand technical Mechanical drawings. You need to be flexible and adaptable in order to provide standby cover and support with any issues and emergencies that may take place out-of-hours. Understanding of ISO9001 procedures and H&S policies are required. Please note that you must hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or ONC equivalent in mechanical engineering and hold a full clean driving licence.
