Programme Delivery Lead - Logistics
Southern Water are looking for an experienced programme lead to build and run a logistics efficiency programme within their waste water area of the business.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual from a number of potential backgrounds to join a large utility business and build a programme from its inception with the outlook to then run the programme.
This role will be heavily involved in warehousing strategies and location of mobile assets throughout the region and how cost and time efficiency can be increased. Successful candidates will be commercially aware and comfortable driving business change at a number of different levels throughout the business.
The role holder will lead the logistics programme across the organisation, providing transformation and operational leadership to develop and enhance logistics performance across Southern Water. The role holder will enable the right engineering resources, with the right equipment and materials to be deployed to the right job, on-time and efficiently.
Accountable for planning and managing all aspects of the design and delivery of the logistics transformation programme within Southern Water, providing leadership and motivation across work-stream owners, project teams and external contractors / suppliers / consultants to ensure deliverables.
Deploy project/programme management tools and governance across transformation projects and throughout the team, leveraging the latest concepts, procedures and applications within the discipline (e.g. network management processes).
Accountable for the operational oversight, delivery & continuous improvement across logistics operations within defined financial and service targets - scope includes warehousing, transportation, tankering and control teams.
Deliver logistics control processes across Southern Water, including the deployment of inventory management governance to improve forecasting and purchasing controls.
Accountable for the efficient planning, scheduling and control of resources to jobs.
Bring best-practice and external insight to develop capabilities and drive the organisation to achieve the vision for brilliant logistics.
