Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S)

Are you passionate about the defence of the United Kingdom, with a good moral compass and a drive to protect people?

The Job

If so, an opportunity has arisen for a Lead Packaging Technology Engineer to join us at DE&S.

This role offers you an exciting opportunity to support the UK Armed Forces, leading and specifying the requirements for packaging to ensure that equipment (non-munitions) is packaged to withstand many years of storage and the extremes of handling and transportation. This includes transportation, via a wide range of means (e.g. helicopters underslung, transfer at sea) across varied terrains (e.g. desert, tundra), and temporary storage in harsh environments and climatic extremes, such that when the end user opens the packaging the item is in the same condition as when it left the factory and is fit for purpose.

If you are seeking a challenging role, offering great development opportunities - in which you will become a Military Level Packaging subject matter expert - and the chance to make a real difference in supporting our Armed Forces, apply today!

As Lead of a small team, you will work with Industry partners, developing better approaches to Defence Packaging, including making it more sustainable as part of the greening government agenda. Other responsibilities include:
