Job description
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Planning Officer on a contract basis. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape planning policies and make a significant impact within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive planning policies and strategies
- Assessing and processing planning applications in line with statutory guidelines
- Providing expert advice and recommendations on planning matters
- Engaging with stakeholders, including the public, developers, and local authorities
- Conducting site visits and preparing detailed reports
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies
- Contributing to the development of policy documents and plans
- Managing and prioritising a diverse caseload of planning applications and projects
Job Requirements:
- Experience in planning policy
- Strong understanding of planning legislation and procedures
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Relevant degree in planning or related field
