Job description
Structural Engineer
Our office is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Toronto team.
This position will be to work on projects for Rail transit infrastructures (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars).
As the Structural Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Assist our clients in the conceptual design definition, helping in technical feasibility and constructability.
- Lead a structural team for the design process.
- Ensure appropriate coordination with the rest of the disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results to others in timely manner.
- Present the alternatives, and the design to the contractor and the client.
- Review technical documentation and identify critical defects.
- Provide guidance to modellers for the BIM model and drawing production.
- Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes
- Develop structural details and construction plans
- Review shop drawings and field services in design and construction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an asset
- Registered P. Eng in Ontario
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in structural design and rail & transit projects
- Experience with complex construction projects involving P3, Infrastructure and/or underground LRT and subway
- Expertise in reinforced concrete structures
- Desirable knowledge of pre-stress concrete and precast construction
- Desirable knowledge of steel structure
- Desirable knowledge of underground s
