Job description
Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking an Associate - Urban Metro/Rail to join their team in Ireland. This is a permanent position situated in Dublin with the flexibility of hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting cost-benefit appraisals (CBA) and developing business cases for rail and transport improvement projects
- Applying expertise in the Irish Department of Transport's Transport Appraisal Framework (TAF)
- Leading and delivering high-quality strategy and business case projects, collaborating with teams in Ireland and the UK
- Supporting the development and growth of key markets in Ireland by working with clients like Irish Rail and the National Transport Authority
- Interacting with clients to agree on project scopes, timelines, and deliverables
- Contributing to successful tender processes to secure future work
Job Requirements:
- Relevant degree in economics, mathematics, transport economics, or a related field
- Expertise in railway and transport planning and economics
- Proven experience using and applying the Irish Department of Transport's TAF
- Strong track record of delivering high-quality project outcomes
- Ability to contribute to and secure successful tenders
- Advanced numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of rail operations principles and early-stage rail enhancement project engineering
- Experience in team leadership and line management
- Membership in a relevant professional institution (desirable)
