Job description
Our client, a prominent organisation, is currently seeking a Principal Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineer to join their team in Barcelona. This is a permanent opportunity to contribute to major rail and tunnel engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading geotechnical and tunnel design projects from inception to completion
- Conducting detailed site investigations and data analysis
- Developing geotechnical solutions and design specifications
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Preparing comprehensive technical reports and documentation
- Providing expertise in risk assessments and mitigation strategies
- Supervising on-site construction activities related to geotechnical and tunnel works
- Maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication
Job Requirements:
- Experience in civil engineering, specifically within the rail and tunnel sectors
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles and tunnel design
- Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software
- Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills
- Ability to conduct thorough site investigations and data interpretation
- A strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation approaches
- Effective team leadership and collaboration skills
- Relevant degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualification
