Surfacing Supervisor - Major Highways Projects
Locations: Yorkshire, Huddersfield & Cheshire (travel between multiple sites required)
Contract: 3 Months (Potential Extension)
Rate: £375-£400 per day (CIS or Ltd Company)
Shifts: Days & Nights, with occasional weekend work
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to support the delivery of surfacing works across major highways projects throughout Yorkshire, Huddersfield, and Cheshire. This is a hands-on supervisory role overseeing surfacing operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel between sites as required to support operational requirements across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise asphalt surfacing, planing, paving, and associated highway works.
- Manage site operatives, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, specification, and quality requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety inspections.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, and site performance.
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Complete daily records, site reports, and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience supervising surfacing works on major highways projects.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt surfacing and highway maintenance operations.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- CSCS Card.
- NRSWA Supervisor (desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and occasional weekends.
- Willingness to travel between sites across Yorkshire, Huddersfield, and Cheshire.
