Site Engineer - Major Highways Project (West Midlands)

Rate: £400 per day
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major highways infrastructure project in the West Midlands. Working as part of a multidisciplinary construction team, you will be responsible for setting out, quality assurance, technical compliance, and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of works on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out and site surveying activities.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Produce and maintain accurate site records, as-builts, and QA documentation.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site activities.
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site, liaising with design and project teams as required.
- Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist with planning, progress reporting, and programme delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways, roads, or major civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of setting out using GPS and total station equipment.
- Experience with QA processes, ITPs, and construction documentation.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- CSCS Card (essential).
- SMSTS and First Aid qualifications desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
Rate & Contract
- £400 per day.
- 6-12 month contract with potential extension.
- Immediate start preferred.
