Our client, a leading company in the technology sector, is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent role within an innovative organisation that designs, manufactures, and operates uncrewed autonomous drones. These drones provide essential logistics solutions across various sectors, including mail and parcel, humanitarian assistance, defence, and environmental.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary on-site IT support person and escalation point for our outsourced IT service provider, taking ownership of support tickets.
  • Enforce strict cyber security frameworks across endpoints and cloud environments, managing access controls and system hardening in alignment with defence industry standards.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot our cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
  • Manage user access permissions and hardware/software assets, working towards a zero-trust security model.
  • Act as the interface between IT and business teams.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, senior leaders, and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, configuration records, and asset inventories.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service reliability, efficiency, and user experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in IT support, preferably within an engineering organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause resolution.
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, M365, AWS, Intune, Defender, Purview, Autopilot, Autopatch).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of supporting a broad range of stakeholders while managing competing priorities.
  • Adaptability to react and deliver quality service in a growing and changing environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Right to work within the UK.
  • Ability to travel abroad to EU and non-EU territories.
  • Ability to hold a security clearance.
