Job description
This is an opportunity for a Project Engineer to work within the midstream business of oil refining and chemical manufacturing company. Candidates must have demonstrable experience as a Project Engineer / Project Manager combining both technical engineering and field execution knowledge.
The successful Project Engineer will work on a portfolio of fuel storage terminal projects across three terminals in Avonmouth, Hythe and West London. The budgets of these modification and improvement projects typically range between £500k to £2millon. You will manage a range of mechanical plant upgrade projects including storage tank modifications, new additive facilities and new fuel loading bays and this will involve a lot of containerised / skid mounted packaged equipment.
The successful candidate will ideally be able to take projects from cradle to grave, i.e. early engineering to site installation and completion whilst being responsible for the stewardship of the project scope, schedule and budget.
The role and responsibilities will include but not be limited to
- Managing deliverables to key gate approval stage including execution strategy development
- Reviewing tender and bid documentation.
- Managing the engineering contractor during FEED and detailed engineering.
- Leading the procurement of capital equipment.
- Facilitating the placement of fabrication and construction contracts.
- Coordinating project issues resolution process.
- Dealing with change requests & endorsing change authorisation.
- Overseeing installation and construction progress to ensure the agreed scope is executed to completion within the budget and schedule.
Candidates will be based at one of the three terminals but must be willing to work on all three sites as and when required. This role is Inside IR35. The rates quoted are PAYE rates. We can also pay Umbrella rates if preferred. Further details will be provided upon application.
