Job description

Position: Senior Jacket Engineer
Location: Surrey, UK
Duration: 4-month initial contract
Rate: Limited company rate
Schedule: Full-time (5 days a week)
Remote: Hybrid (2 days remote)
IR35 Status: Likely outside IR35 (pending Qdos assessment)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Jacket Engineer, you will support the lead related preparation of engineering deliverables within the scope assigned:

  • Design basis, material, and construction specifications.
  • Independently perform engineering analyses for operational (inservice) phase (inplace, fatigue, seismic), non-operational phase (loadout, transportation, launch, upending, and setdown), and accidental phase (boat impact, ALE earthquake, pushover).
  • Perform detailed design of jacket appurtenances.
  • Review analyses/calculations performed by others, provide technical guidance, and proactively resolve any discrepancies.

The work will involve liaising with other disciplines, clients, and 3rd party contractors, and coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Structural Engineering Design.
  • Minimum experience of 15 years with excellent technical and practical engineering skills, consistently delivering on quality and schedule.
  • Proficiency with SESAM/SACS software is required.
  • Proficiency to perform non-linear FEA using ABAQUS and USFOS is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of latest revisions of offshore design codes such as ISO 19901, EN 19902, and applicable DNV & NORSOK codes is a must.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to work in an office-based role.
