Job description
Our client, a leading Energy, Oil & Gas company, is looking for experienced Riser Engineers to join their team on a contract basis. As a Riser Engineer, you will be working on offshore projects, providing analytical and design services for fixed and flexible risers in subsea engineering projects. This role involves working with multiphase flow, oil, gas, and water injection fluids, as well as conducting finite element analysis for static and dynamic analysis of riser systems.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing analytical and design services for fixed and flexible risers
- Preparing and running finite element analysis programs
- Collaborating with platform structural engineers for riser design
- Interfacing with pipeline design engineers
- Coordinating design efforts with other project disciplines
- Conducting stress and fatigue analysis
- Interpreting MetOcean data and applying wave theories for riser hydrodynamics
- Having knowledge of fabrication yard and offshore riser installation
Qualifications:
- Good First Degree in Structural, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
- Second Degree, MSc. preferable
- C Eng. via an applicable Institute
Experience:
- Significant experience in rigid and flexible riser analysis and design
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable design codes (DNV, ASME, ISO, etc.)
- Experience in conceptual, feasibility, pre-FEED, and FEED activities
- Experience in coordinating with platform structural engineers and pipeline design engineers
- Proficiency in conducting finite element analysis using software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, AutoPipe, Caesar II, etc.
- Experience in stress and fatigue analysis
- Knowledge of structural steel programs (SACS, STADD Pro, etc.)
- Experience in interpreting MetOcean data for riser hydrodynamics
- Knowledge of fabrication yard and offshore riser installation is advantageous
