Job description
Early Shift:
- Salary: £30 per hour (UMB) or £22.23 per hour (PAYE) + Holiday Pay
- Hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:00-14:15 / Friday, 06:00-12:00
Late Shift:
- Salary: £35 per hour (UMB) or £25.94 per hour (PAYE) + Holiday Pay
- Hours: Monday to Thursday, 14:15-22:30 / Friday, 12:00-18:00
About the Role:
We are seeking diligent individuals to join our Quality Inspector team. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting manufactured parts, ensuring compliance with design specifications and other requirements. This role involves inspecting metallic and composite assemblies, completing inspection reports, and ensuring the certification of parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe working environment and adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety policies
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and job costings
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of workstations
- Adhere to quality standards and minimize wastage
- Support cost management initiatives
- Keep knowledge and skills up to date
- Actively participate in team activities and training sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Role Specifics:
- Inspect aerospace components against design data
- Conduct stage inspections of major assemblies
- Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
- Review paperwork for accuracy and traceability
- Assist with audits
- Utilize measuring equipment to ensure compliance
- Handle non-conformance reports
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience with measuring equipment and engineering drawings
- PC literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with MRP systems is desirable
- Strong communication skills
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Additional Information:
- Mechanical and manual lifting may be required
- Agility is necessary for some inspection stages
Security Clearance:
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and adherence to ITAR restrictions.
