Job description
Job Title: Stress Engineer
Workplace: Hybrid
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required.
Salary: Ranges between £40 - £70k per annum, depending on level of the role and your experience.
Role Introduction:
We're working with our leading Aerospace client to help them hire a number of experienced Stress Engineers (from Senior to Lead) to join their team in Gloucester.
In this role, you'll perform Static, Fatigue and FEA analysis tasks to develop efficient landing gear systems for aircraft, ensuring they meet demanding customer requirements.
My Key Tasks:
The role involves conducting static stress and fatigue analysis using FEA tools like ABAQUS, and collaborating with teams such as Chief Engineers, Programmes, Test Engineering, and Manufacturing.
You'll participate in audits, contribute to product validation, and liaise with external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory bodies.
Additionally, you'll review designs and repairs, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Essential Experience & Skills for this role:
You'll have a strong understanding of aerospace design and manufacturing processes, along with expertise in static analysis, FEA, and fatigue analysis of aircraft structures or systems. Additionally, you'll be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience with aerospace materials and regulatory requirements is essential, as well as familiarity working within Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
Strong communication skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are required. You should be highly organised and proactive, with a solution-oriented mindset and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
Minimum HNC/HND level, ideally BSc/MSc, in an engineering discipline.
Desirable
- Experience with landing gear systems.
- Exposure to various engineering functions is advantageous.
