Job description
Our client, a leading contractor in the power distribution sector is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a contracts across the East of England. This role involves managing multiple projects from design through to site execution, ensuring compliance with health, safety, technical policies, and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and support to the project delivery team.
- Represent the company in client meetings and correspondence.
- Provide commercial oversight and programme management support.
- Track and report on project progress through key stages.
- Contribute to the project governance process.
- Assist in scoping and creating project delivery programmes.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures and current legislation.
- Drive cost-effective and innovative project execution methods.
- Plan and programme both current and future projects.
- Oversee cost value reconciliation (CVR).
- Support the Design Manager in developing design programmes.
- Ensure projects are adequately staffed to meet programme requirements.
- Contribute to estimating and tendering processes.
- Participate in senior leadership meetings, influencing key decisions.
- Manage the welfare and development of staff.
- Ensure employees have the necessary training and competencies.
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience managing large capital delivery programmes.
- Strong understanding of engineering policy, procedures, and legislation.
- Excellent decision-making, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to improve operational processes and track project success.
- Experience working in a high-voltage (HV) power engineering environment.
- Full UK driving licence
- NEC Contract experience
Desirable:
- HNC/Degree in Engineering.
- NEBOSH Safety Management Qualification.
