Security Clearance: SC Required (UK Nationals Only)
The Opportunity
We're recruiting Civil / Structural Engineers across all grades to join a highly specialist engineering team delivering complex, high‑value infrastructure programmes. This is a predominantly remote role, with site visits required as projects demand.
Rates will be dependent on experience and seniority.
About the Team
You'll join a 140‑strong UK Civil & Structural Engineering team specialising in technically demanding projects involving extreme hazards. The team goes far beyond standard code compliance, applying first‑principles thinking and advanced analysis techniques to understand structural behaviour and failure mechanisms.
Key technical areas include:
- Seismic, blast and impact loading
- Ductility and nonlinear behaviour
- Buckling and progressive collapse
- Soil-structure interaction
The environment is collaborative, highly technical and research‑driven, with a strong focus on continuous capability development.
Projects
You'll contribute to long‑term, multi‑million‑pound infrastructure programmes, including:
- Reinforced concrete structures
- Plated steel structures
- Maritime and waterfront assets
- Specialist high‑integrity facilities
Design delivery is typically supported through Glasgow, Edinburgh or London as hybrid base locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support inter‑disciplinary project planning, delivery and financial performance
- Deliver high‑quality technical outputs in line with rigorous quality standards
- Validate complex analysis models and support independent technical review
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
- Adhere to and contribute towards business and quality management systems
- Champion operational and design safety across all activities
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Ability to achieve and maintain SC Security Clearance (UK national requirement)
- Strong civil/structural design capability using British Standards, Eurocodes and/or International Standards
- Experience managing project deliverables (quality, cost, programme and resources)
- Accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working towards Chartership
Why Apply?
This is one of the most technically challenging and rewarding civil/structural engineering roles in the UK, offering the chance to work on nationally significant programmes, push technical boundaries, and develop deep expertise in extreme‑load structural behaviour.
