A leading aerospace and defence technology business requires a Senior Commercial Manager. Applicants need commercial contract management expertise, gained on large complex defence, aerospace or government programmes. Hybrid working options available - 3 days on site, 2 at home.

The Senior Commercial Manager will support and lead all commercial activity across existing programmes and new business opportunities. Working cross-functionally, you will act as the commercial SME in shaping and delivering commercial strategies on aerospace and defence programmes.

Specific duties of the Senior Commercial Manager include:

  • Monitor, manage and report on commercial performance of programmes
  • Identify and manage contractual risk throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Support new business cases and work-winning commercial activity, internally and with the customer
  • Support programme delivery and financial performance
  • Develop and deliver innovative commercial solutions to support bids, proposals and customer requirements, including complex due diligence activities
  • Negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and manage non‑routine contractual issues through senior stakeholders
  • Draft contracts, agreements and bespoke clauses for new and existing business
  • Own key commercial aspects of programmes, including customer relationships, dispute resolution, risk analysis and mitigation
  • Ensure robust contract administration and governance throughout programme delivery

Senior Commercial Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Commercial Management, or Contract Management expertise within an aerospace, defence, engineering services or government contracting environment
  • Experience managing large, complex contracts
  • Familiarity in interpreting complex commercial, financial and technical data
  • Proven track record in developing commercial solutions and mitigating risk
  • Excellent relationship building skills - stakeholders, customers, colleagues
  • Degree, MCIPS, IACCM etc. desirable
