Contract: PAYE (running to June 2027)

About the Opportunity

We are growing our team and hiring 9 machinists for contract roles at our well-equipped manufacturing facility in Titchfield.

In Spring 2027, the role will transfer to a brand-new facility in Lee-on-the-Solent, creating a European Centre of Excellence with significant investment in new machinery. It's an exciting time to join the business.

Shift Pattern

  • Training: Days (07:30-16:15 Mon-Thu | 07:30-11:30 Fri)
  • Post-training: Earlies or Lates

We'll aim to accommodate your preferred shift where possible

Pay Rates (PAYE)

33 days holiday available separately or advanced into weekly pay

  • Days: £18.72 → £19.29 (£21.44 → £22.09 inc. holiday)
  • Earlies: £20.59 → £21.22 (£23.59 → £24.30 inc. holiday)
  • Lates: £22.46 → £23.15 (£25.73 → £26.51 inc. holiday)
  • OT: £28.08 → £28.93
  • Sundays: £37.44 → £38.58

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders or sliding-head machines
  • Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Record and analyse SPC data
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers and gauges
  • Carry out manual machining, toolmaking and deburring
  • Maintain safe working practices and support continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience

  • Proven machining experience in a relevant environment
  • Experience with CNC machines such as Mori Seiki NH5000, Hardinge Conquest or Citizen Sliding Head
  • Fastems experience desirable for machining centre roles
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Experience using SPC and precision measuring equipment
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on machining experience
  • Aerospace, defence or other regulated industry experience is advantageous
