Our Water consultancy client is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Manchester team on a permanent basis with hybrid working.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering technical excellence across a range of geotechnical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Field Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and interpret geotechnical field data, including mapping, testing, and inspections.
  • Design & Development: Support the development of geotechnical designs and feasibility studies.
  • Project Coordination: Align field requirements with short-term plans, mine development, and environmental protection.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and contribute to reservoir characterization and simulation.
  • Innovation & Knowledge Sharing: Lead internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to technical developments.
  • Client Engagement: Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience, including supervision of junior colleagues.
  • Advanced skills in geotechnical analysis, geophysical and geochemical interpretation, and data management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver innovative engineering solutions.
  • Strong competencies in collaboration, decision-making, planning, and technical leadership.
