Our client, a leading provider of water and wastewater treatment solutions, is seeking a dedicated Commissioning Engineer to join their specialist team in Ireland. This role involves a site-based position with travel to various data centre projects, focusing on the delivery of critical water cooling infrastructure within large-scale, hyperscale, and colocation data centre facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases for water treatment plants, pumping stations, and associated mechanical piping systems
  • Ensuring seamless integration of water cooling systems with site-wide Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA platforms
  • Conducting rigorous testing to meet specified Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) targets and operational performance metrics
  • Producing comprehensive commissioning plans, test protocols, method statements, and final handover documentation
  • Diagnosing and rectifying technical issues, liaising with design engineers and sub-contractors
  • Enforcing the highest standards of Health & Safety on-site
  • Acting as the primary technical point of contact for the client during the commissioning and snagging phase

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification with significant industrial experience
  • Proven experience in commissioning, preferably within data centres or mission-critical facility sectors
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, pumping, and water treatment processes
  • Experience with control systems (PLC/SCADA/BMS)
  • Familiarity with pressurised piping systems and cooling infrastructure
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Willingness to travel across project sites in Ireland
