Mechanical Engineer - Data Centre Project (Skellefteå, Sweden)

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing mechanical team on-site in Skellefteå, Sweden. In this role, you will lead the technical delivery of critical mechanical packages, overseeing everything from tender documentation and design management through to final commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our mechanical team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of projects, including:
Design & Technical Management: Review tender documentation, oversee plant and material selection, and lead the production and coordination of technical drawings.
Operational Oversight: Coordinate installation activities with contractors to ensure all services are integrated seamlessly.
Project Planning: Sequence the installation of complex pipework and HVAC systems to ensure strict adherence to the project programme.
Safety & Compliance: Prepare robust method statements and risk assessments, ensuring all HVAC deliverables meet the highest safety and performance criteria.
Commercial Management: Manage the project commercially from handover through to procurement. This includes managing specialist subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment procurement.
Documentation & Costing: Assist in documenting and costing scope changes, and prepare monthly valuations and final accounts.
Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relevant client communications and provide regular updates to the project team.
Site Excellence: Oversee site works to ensure a consistent, high standard of installation, driving the project through to successful commissioning and final handover.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within a mechanical and electrical (M&E) contracting environment.
Technical Expertise: Essential experience in design management.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Skills: Exceptional organisational, communication, and time-management abilities.
Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
