Role Title: Mechanical Construction Manager
Location: On-site (Skelleftea, Sweden)
Employment Type: Full-time
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join our on-site team in Sweden, overseeing major data centre developments across the Helsinki metropolitan region, including key project sites in Espoo and Kirkkonummi. As a specialist European delivery partner for mission-critical digital infrastructure, we manage end-to-end turnkey solutions-ranging from architectural and civil works to advanced mechanical, electrical, and commissioning services-currently supporting over 430 MW of live IT load capacity across seven European countries.
In this role, you will be pivotal in driving the mechanical delivery of complex, high-capacity data centre facilities. You will ensure that all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) deliverables, as well as complex pipework networks, are executed to the highest engineering and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery & Execution: Oversee the complete lifecycle of HVAC installations and pipework sequencing across our sites in Espoo, Kirkkonummi, and the broader Helsinki area, ensuring seamless alignment with the master project schedule.
- Commercial & Procurement Management: Transition projects smoothly from the estimating phase through to the technical procurement of specialist equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers. Manage variations, assess scope changes, and assist with monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate closely with the wider project team to maintain robust two-week look-ahead schedules and ensure optimal labour resourcing on-site.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Champion rigorous safety protocols, review site methodologies to eliminate hazards, maintain high standards of housekeeping across all subcontractor work zones, and ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate clear communication channels with project stakeholders, clients, and multidisciplinary site teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Educational Background: A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (such as a B.Eng. degree, HNC/BTEC, NVQ, or City & Guilds certificate).
- Industry Experience: Proven background in a similar management capacity within a mechanical and electrical (M&E) contracting environment.
- Sector Expertise: Prior hands-on experience within mission-critical or data centre construction environments is highly advantageous.
- Competencies: Exceptional organisational abilities, proactive problem-solving, and strong communication skills tailored for complex, fast-paced engineering projects.
