PMO Lead - Finance IT
π Location: Canary Wharf, London (Mandatory 2 days onsite per week)
π· Rate: Β£640 per day (Inside IR35/Umbrella)

Duration: Initial 6-month contract with potential extension
We are looking for an experienced PMO Lead to support and enhance project and programme delivery across a complex portfolio. This role will be responsible for driving governance, reporting, planning, financial management, resource oversight, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring delivery standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PMO governance across multiple projects and programmes.
- Manage portfolio reporting and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, and delivery assurance.
- Maintain and manage RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Produce executive dashboards, status reports, and management information packs.
- Drive financial planning, budget monitoring, forecasting, and cost control activities.
- Manage resource planning, capacity tracking, and utilisation reporting.
- Coordinate governance forums, steering committees, and stakeholder meetings.
- Implement and maintain change control processes and decision tracking.
- Ensure consistency in PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Coach project managers and delivery teams on governance and PMO processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the PMO function.
Required Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in a PMO Lead or Senior PMO position within large-scale programmes.
- Strong understanding of:
- Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies
- Project governance and controls
- Portfolio and programme reporting
- Financial and resource management
- Advanced skills in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Power BI
- SharePoint and Microsoft 365
- Experience with tools such as:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Clarity
- Microsoft Project
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience producing executive-level reporting and management information.
