Civil Project Manager
Our client, a prominent player in the renewables sector, is seeking a dedicated Civil Project Manager to join their dynamic team. Based in our office, you will oversee the civil construction scope of various solar projects from conception to completion, handling both grid connection and private/balance of plant projects ranging from LV (Low Voltage) through to 132kV.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team and demonstrating strong leadership skills
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Coordinating teams of various disciplines to achieve the best results
- Minimising civil construction expenditure and contributing to cost savings
- Assisting in developing and improving company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental assurance systems and policies
- Maintaining technical competence and high standards of delivery
- Adhering to health and safety policies and company rules
- Ensuring robust commercial management of projects, including contract management and financial oversight
Job Requirements:
- Experience in project management within the construction or renewables sector
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and regulatory requirements
- Ability to read and understand civil construction drawings
- High level of numerical and IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to act on own initiative and make decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with contract and subcontract documents terms and conditions
- HNC (Higher National Certificate) or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working for an Independent Connection Provider (ICP)
- Experience working for a Distribution Network Operator (DNO)
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
- APM or Prince 2 qualifications
