The Role

We are currently recruiting a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our site delivery team in Northumberland. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing electrical installations, ensuring all works are executed safely, within schedule, and to the highest technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Coordination: Oversee daily electrical site operations, coordinating closely with subcontractors, site supervisors, and project management.

  • Technical Review: Interpret and evaluate engineering drawings, design specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with project goals.

  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Drive QA/QC protocols on-site, managing inspection routines, testing checks, and snagging resolution.

  • Progress & Reporting: Track construction progress against the project schedule and report regularly to senior management.

  • Technical Query Management: Liaise directly with design teams to resolve technical queries (RFIs) and coordinate design adjustments efficiently.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all project documentation, including safety folders, submittals, and test records, are maintained accurately.

  • Commercial & Variations Support: Assist the commercial team in tracking variation requests, scope changes, and valuation claims.

  • Meetings & Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the electrical team during project review sessions, safety briefings, and planning meetings.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience working within electrical construction environments.

  • Technical Knowledge: Proven background managing site-wide electrical packages, including power distribution, lighting systems, and primary services.

  • Document Literacy: Strong ability to read and critique construction drawings, technical submittals, and specifications.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with subcontractors and clients.

  • Sector Focus: Prior exposure to data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects is advantageous.
