Our client, a prominent player in the defence and security sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional to join their Planning team in Barrow on a 12-month contract basis. This fully on-site, hybrid role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to contribute to significant projects within the submarine solutions division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing detailed project plans and schedules to support complex defence and security projects
- Monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion, while adhering to quality and cost parameters
- Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project timelines
- Leading planning meetings and progress reviews with key stakeholders
- Producing regular status reports and presenting findings to senior management
- Coordinating with multiple departments to ensure cohesive project execution
- Utilising advanced planning tools and software to enhance project visibility and tracking
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior planning professionals within the team
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in planning within the defence and security sector
- Expertise in project management tools and software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and presentation abilities
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of risk management and mitigation techniques
- Relevant professional qualification in project management or a related field
