Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Site Engineer (Geotechnical) for a project in Plymouth. This contract role is integral to managing technical compliance and ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings.
- Assist in establishing systems to record completed work and update the Project Quality Plan.
- Participate in developing quality check sheets and carrying out quality checks & surveys.
- Assist with site safety, environmental, and quality inspections.
- Manage systems to review progress against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
- Record and test workmanship and materials, including drilling, grouting & anchoring.
- Provide engineering support to overcome technical problems and answer queries.
- Set out works within allowable tolerances, as per the provided site control.
Job Requirements:
- Academic qualification (Level 3 or above, such as HNC, HND, Degree).
- Proficiency in survey equipment (GPS, Total Station) for Setting Out & Survey.
- Experience in geotechnical applications such as drilling, grouting, anchor installation, inspection, and testing.
- Awareness of commercial processes.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and the ability to write RAMS.
- Proven people and project management skills.
- Good standard of IT skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends and out of hours on a rota basis to suit project requirements.
Desirable:
- Possession of TWS or TWC certification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- SSSTS certification.
- Experience in geotechnical projects.
- Experience in nuclear projects.
- Progress towards Chartership/Incorporation with ICE or another professional body.
