Our client is currently seeking a Site Engineer - SRC to join their team in Plymouth within the Defence & Security sector. This is a contract role requiring significant onsite presence due to the nature of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and establish systems to record work completion.
  • Develop and carry out quality checks and surveys, whilst participating in site safety and environmental inspections.
  • Manage systems to review progress against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
  • Provide engineering support to resolve technical problems and ensure all technical queries are answered.
  • Assist in the procurement process of site materials and equipment.
  • Ensure all setting out works are constructed within allowable tolerances and maintain accurate records of setting out instruments and measuring equipment.
  • Complete daily diaries, keep trackers updated, and maintain the drawing register.
  • Provide clear communication and sketches for effective understanding onsite.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with TP144 Site Engineering and Temporary Works Design.
  • Familiarity with Temporary Works Coordinator responsibilities and RAMS.
  • Knowledge of site engineering practices within a Defence & Security context.
  • A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete structures and system formwork.
  • Awareness of commercial processes and proficiency in Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong people and project management skills, including team leadership and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Leica Survey equipment for setting out and survey tasks.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and out of hours as needed, often on a rota basis.

Desirable Skills:

  • Qualifications in TWS or TWC.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience developing ITPs.
  • SSSTS certification.
  • Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks, and Reinforced Concrete.
  • Nuclear experience is an advantage.
