CNC Prismatic Fine Deburr Technician (Night Shift)

Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday Nights (21:15 - 07:00)
Hours: 37 Hours per Week (9.25 hours per night)

Rate: £22.01 PAYE (+ £3.20 Holiday Pay) or £30.13 UMB (inclusive of 20% shift premium)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Prismatic Fine Deburr Technician to join a specialist manufacturing team producing high-precision transmission components and casings for the motorsport and aerospace sectors.

Working within a small and highly skilled team, you will be responsible for carrying out fine deburring operations to exacting quality standards. Using both manual and power-driven hand tools, you will help ensure components meet stringent engineering and customer requirements while maintaining a right-first-time approach.

This role is ideally suited to someone with excellent attention to detail, a strong engineering background, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision deburring on machined transmission components and casings.
  • Use a range of manual and power-assisted deburring tools safely and effectively.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Understand and work to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • Inspect components to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain a right-first-time approach to all work undertaken.
  • Work collaboratively within a small manufacturing team to meet production targets.
  • Follow all quality, health & safety, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Complete work in a flexible and efficient manner to support changing production priorities.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a deburring role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T).
  • Experience working with high-quality machined metal components.
  • Competent in the use of hand-held and power-driven deburring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of gears and gear geometry.
  • Experience within motorsport, aerospace, automotive or other high-precision engineering sectors.
  • Previous experience working on transmission components and casings.
