Our client, a leading organisation in the automotive sector, is currently seeking a Senior FEA Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is hybrid, based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting feasibility analysis and supporting the design process, including gear layout concepting, gear durability, bearing specification, and shaft durability.
  • Collaborating closely with design and development teams to assess the functionality and performance of developed systems, discussing and agreeing on requirements and targets.
  • Interpreting analysis results and suggesting improvements.
  • Preparing gear drawing details, including the specification of gear micro geometry.
  • Performing non-standard analysis tasks to guide design recommendations or problem resolutions.
  • Developing analysis methodologies in the aforementioned areas.
  • Preparing detailed technical presentations for both internal and client project engineering reviews.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical analysis within an engineering context, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, or related sectors.
  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, physics, computer science, software engineering, maths, control engineering).
  • Strong theoretical and analytical skills relating to dynamics and kinematics of mechanisms. Experience in the analysis of transmissions or rotating components using hand calculations, multi-body dynamics, or FEA tools is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using mechanical software such as REALIS SABR, Romax, or Masta.
  • Good knowledge of transmission technology.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritising tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork, organisational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Capability to communicate and present with clarity, including writing and delivering technical presentations to internal teams and clients.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with strong attention to detail.
