The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Portsmouth, is currently seeking an experienced CNC Miller / Setter to join their skilled production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components and enjoys working within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines
- Manufacture precision engineered components in line with customer specifications and engineering drawings.
- Interpret and work accurately from technical drawings and job instructions.
- Use precision measuring equipment to inspect components and maintain tight tolerances.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent quality output.
- Complete production documentation and quality records accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller / Setter.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with Heidenhain controls is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience operating CNC lathes.
- Experience with EDM processes.
- Background in high-precision manufacturing environments.
