Our client, operating in the highways sector, is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Director Civil Engineer to join their growing Land Development team. This role involves delivering a varied portfolio of projects for a range of private and public sector clients, including Sizewell C, Ministry of Defence Frameworks, Berkeley Homes, Homes England, and others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of civil engineers for the technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring high-quality standards in areas such as utilities, drainage, and construction logistics.
- Develop project design deliverables and manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Manage production, review, and approval of technical deliverables such as design reports, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Provide technical leadership within the discipline for the regional and national practice, influencing internal processes and services.
- Grow, develop, and manage the civil engineering capabilities within the regional and/or national practice.
- Work independently with guidance in challenging situations and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Advise on client, operational, project, or service activities within project teams.
- Collaborate on the technical aspects of bid proposals.
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
Job Requirements:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Chartered Civil Engineer status.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale civil engineering design delivery within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- In-depth knowledge and broad expertise in civil engineering, including drainage, utilities, pavements, and earthworks.
- Exemplary communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge of current design codes and standards, including CDM regulations.
- Proficiency in analytical software and tools such as Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage, and Civil3D.
- Experience in the energy or defence markets is beneficial but not required.
- A proactive and highly motivated mindset with a collaborative approach.
- Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
