Our client is looking to add an Assistant Driller to their cross-sector team. This permanent role involves supporting the lead driller on a variety of projects using a range of drilling techniques. If you have a background in geology and a hands-on approach, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the drilling of cable percussive, rotary boreholes, or mini rig boreholes
- Hand digging trial pits
- Sampling and labelling of soil, rock, and groundwater samples
- Driving a 4x4 vehicle and towing rigs/trailers
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions across different locations
- Following detailed specifications for site work
- Maintaining effective communication with the lead driller, site engineers, and project managers
- Contributing to the maintenance and development of management systems for drilling equipment and site operations
Job Requirements:
- Experience in geology or a related field
- Full driving licence with a licence to tow preferred
- CSCS certification
- Level 2 NVQ in Land Drilling
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Prepared to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
