Our client is looking to add an Assistant Driller to their cross-sector team. This permanent role involves supporting the lead driller on a variety of projects using a range of drilling techniques. If you have a background in geology and a hands-on approach, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the drilling of cable percussive, rotary boreholes, or mini rig boreholes
  • Hand digging trial pits
  • Sampling and labelling of soil, rock, and groundwater samples
  • Driving a 4x4 vehicle and towing rigs/trailers
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions across different locations
  • Following detailed specifications for site work
  • Maintaining effective communication with the lead driller, site engineers, and project managers
  • Contributing to the maintenance and development of management systems for drilling equipment and site operations

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in geology or a related field
  • Full driving licence with a licence to tow preferred
  • CSCS certification
  • Level 2 NVQ in Land Drilling
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Prepared to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
