Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager

Permanent - Hybrid working - Based from Hertfordshire (preference) or Bristol.

A leading international engineering and technology organisation is seeking an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager to join its Customer Support & Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver ILS activities for international customers across the full product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will play a key role in influencing product design and developing support solutions that ensure effective through-life support and operational readiness once products enter service.

The Opportunity

As the Integrated Logistics Support Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of ILS strategies and plans in line with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Manage ILS activities throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through manufacture and in-service support.
  • Develop and maintain robust Through-Life Support policies and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry and customer standards, including:
    • S1000D (Technical Publications)
    • S2000M (Material Management)
    • S3000L (Logistics Support Analysis)
    • S4000P (Preventive Maintenance)
    • S5000F (In-Service Data Feedback)
    • Relevant Defence Standards and customer-specific ILS requirements
  • Oversee Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), maintenance task analysis, spares modelling, provisioning, support equipment development, training solutions, and technical documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers and key stakeholders on all ILS-related matters.
  • Manage the delivery of support solutions within the UK and internationally.
  • Support bid and proposal activities, including ILS cost estimation and risk assessment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop ILS practitioners within the programme or functional team.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate programme risks, assumptions, and dependencies.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an ILS, Supportability, or Through-Life Support role within an engineering, aerospace, defence, or complex systems environment.
  • A broad engineering background, ideally degree-qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of ASD S-Series standards and their practical application.
  • Experience working with major customers and complex stakeholder environments.
  • The ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting bids, proposals, and business development activities.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands.
  • Proven leadership skills, including work planning, resource management, and successful delivery against commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
